Trainining Laboratory Assistants - Fact Sheet

In its quest to make science teaching and learning easy for teachers and students respectively, USEP emarked on strenthening facilitators among which are the laboratories. It is well documented that
properly equipped and functional science laboratories potentially enhance science learning and are “ a vehicle for curriculum enhancement” hence, the training of laboratory assistants and equiping of laboratories.

Science Teacher Training - Factsheet

This is part of the teacher development of teachers. The Teacher Mentorship Programme (TMP) is a teacher development initiative that USEP implements to equip science teachers with adequate knowledge and skills the quality and standards in improving science teaching.

TMP falls under the desire of USEP to implement functional training and professional development of science teachers as one of the activities to foster a positive impact on improving the teaching and learning of science.

Science Fairs - Factsheet

As part of the experiential learning methodology advocated for by USEP, the science fairs are organised to give students an opportunity to innovate and showcase their projects. This is a hands-on approach of interesting the students to work on and sharpen their abilities to use science to solve day to day problems in their World.

Academic Progress Scorecard - FactSheet

The Academic Progress Scorecard (APS) is a tool used by school administrators and teachers to evaluate school performances, gather information and data from feedback to help academic managers to elect improvement and good academic performance. The APS is administered to school administrators, teachers and students annually or termly depending on the need. The Scorecard’s major role is to evaluate and monitor the learning process in a bid to improve performance in science subjects.
